About Laura Matesky
Laura Matesky is both a portrait photographer and photojournalist whose work captures both events, and the intimate stories of individuals. Born in Middletown CT, Laura developed an early fascination with photography and art working with her Mother,a therapeutic artist at artistic events as photojournalists captured the story.
After graduating from the college, Laura began a career in sales and marketing with a side business of freelance portrait photography and photojournalism that has spanned nearly 30+ years. Her photographs have appeared in a variety of publications, documenting pivotal moments with a keen eye for detail and emotion. Her portrait sessions are known for drawing out the personalities of subjects, whether focusing on a business, sporting event, political event or everyday people. Driven by a passion for truth and beauty, her work bridges the gap between global events, local events and personal experiences, offering viewers a deeper understanding of the world and its people.
Laura's photography has appeared in newspapers, magazines, publications, books and billboards. Her work has been showcased on digital platforms both locally and internationally. No matter the medium or subject her photography is a testament to the power of vision and the split second magic of the captured moment.
